Victoria Line Tube Train

This one was another fun side project that I decided to do it to mainly practice hard surface modelling and texturing. The initial goal was also to finish in UE5, but unfortunately I did not reach the quality that I was hoping for (the global illumination in Unreal is just not that good yet), so I end up finishing in Maya using Arnold. Texture was done in Substance Painter and the UV on ZBrush with Maya. I hope you guys like it! In this page I also tried to documented the process as much as possible, hope you guys find it useful!

The modeling and uv stage took about 15 hours, working on weekends and on my spare time.

Back Module SketchFab version.

I made in total four modules: Left, Right, Double Doors and Back/Front. The right was a mirrored version with some changes on the texture. In total I end up with 87 UDIMs.

And of course, the most important part: the references. Besides searching on Google and on Instagram, I also took several pictures of the train.

Another very important reference, specially for the measurements of the car, was this Info Sheet that I found on google.Very useful!!

Another very fun part was making the fake posters. Which I had to make some easter eggs. For this part I would like to thanks Mick Abela to help me with this task!

And I also had to re create all the sigh, maps and alert posters of the train, all done in Photoshop. I also re create the fabric pattern of the seats and the floor texture, those two was done in Maya.
